The dentist performs an initial examination and takes one or more x-rays of the area to prepare for the procedure. Treatment plans with the periodontist and restorative dentist will be developed. Models of your teeth will be made.

A. A single prosthesis (crown) is used to replace one missing tooth – each prosthetic tooth attaches to its own implant.

B. The implant procedure is performed and the implant is allowed to heal for a few months to integrate with the jawbone before the next step is taken.

C. After healing the final step is another mold of your teeth, followed by the placement of the permanent ceramic tooth.

D. You should expect the new tooth to fit and function just like a natural tooth. Follow-up for your implant and regular maintenance should be performed every six months to keep the tooth and gum around it clean and healthy.
