What is Piezosurgery?

Piezosurgery® is an exciting modality that enables us to cut bone without harming soft tissues. It accomplishes this by using a device that emits ultrasonic vibrations which incise hard tissues, while not disturbing soft tissues, i.e. nerves, sinus membranes, and gum tissues. We can now precisely cut bone during augmentation procedures enhancing the final results and expanding deficient areas of bone to accommodate implant placement. This means our doctors are able to perform procedures such as tooth extractions, crown lengthening, ridge expansion, periodontal therapy, and implant site preparation with increased accuracy and minimal discomfort.
